A Cocktail Pairing Dinner with Iggy's and CODA
9 SEP 2025
For two weekends only, Iggy's and CODA joined forces on an increasingly popular format: a cocktail pairing dinner at Iggy's restaurant on Orchard Road. Michelin-starred Iggy's head chef Jake Lee served up an eight-course menu partnered with six boundary-pushing cocktails by CODA's mixologist Treyna Zhang. Together, they delivered an experience that combined flavours of East and West, heritage and innovation, food and drink.
The format was simple and intimate. Eight guests seated at the bar watched Jake and Treyna work in tandem, each course arriving with its own cocktail, designed not just to accompany but to complete the dish. Jake's plates showcased French technique with Asian ingredients, while Treyna's creations highlighted Asian botanicals and spirits that echoed the kitchen's fusion approach.
A preserved mandarin peel and Orientalist Solera Rum concoction amplified the citrus and pepper notes of the kinome leaf, highlighting the sweetness of shiro ebi, while a CODA Martini—infused with rooibos and oolong tea—contrasted with ankimo, its tea tannins counterbalancing the richness of monkfish liver. Later, a whisky-peach blend named Momo added a smokiness to oxtail laced with Manjimup truffle. Here was proof that cocktails could carry the same weight as wine in serious dining.
For the Comoclubbers in attendance, the experience broke familiar rhythms. Instead of the predictable “dish, sip of wine, next dish” pattern, flavours revealed themselves in unexpected sequences. Smoky profiles appeared where brightness was expected. Earthy undertones surfaced instead of simple fruit.
This was an event that resisted easy categorisation: not just a dinner, not just a bar takeover, not simply East meets West. It showed what happens when creative minds work as equals. The success of this partnership suggests it won't be the last. Whether this becomes a regular fixture or remains an occasional treat, one thing is certain: when Iggy's and CODA decide to collaborate again, Clubbers will want to be first in line.
